Bland to Revenue-Generating: Digital Deals

A large travel company ConnectionText serves was struggling to find a creative way to get people to sign up for their travel app and planned to have a booth at a major New Year’s Day bowl game, with an expected attendance of 4000 people at their pre-game FanFest event. They hoped to get as many attendees as possible to download their app on their way into the game. The travel company had looked at doing a traditional drawing using paper and a plastic box, but they weren’t that excited about it, worried that it was not attention-grabbing nor the most efficient way of gathering information. They needed an enticing way to encourage attendees to sign up for their app in one simple step, to collect customer information and further their reach using technology where they could follow-up easily via text. They were eager for a way to connect their digital presence with their offline interactions with customers at the event.

The results were immediate. An impressive 1500 people logged on using the Digital Deals gamification tool platform. The travel company set up automated messages to thank customers for attending and a download link to their app. The technology worked seamlessly and the merchant raved about the ease of use and ROI in meeting his business goals for the event. They were able to gather all new names for their database and added significant revenue for their online booking tool.
